A moratorium on future building is currently in effect, due to the limited (but sufficient) water supply. This means lot owners who do not now have a septic system and water meter on their property cannot build until additional sources of water can be found. This moratorium has been in effect since 1996. The approximately five-hundred acre Century Ranch CID has about one hundred full time residents; with the moratorium in force, this number is not likely to increase in the foreseeable future.
